In many ways, Streetcar fits the standard parameters of a classical tragedy. According to Aristotle, the classic Greek tragedy adheres to three unities: unity of time, place and action. In a classic tragedy, the tragic hero meets with an unhappy end- usually his or her utter destruction, brought about by a combination of outside forces and his or her own fatal flaws. Accordingly, who is our tragic hero/heroine, and what are the tragic flaws?
